Acetal plastic, also known as polyacetal and polyoxymethylene (POM), copolymer acetal, steel bar, is a general-purpose, semi-crystalline, engineering thermoplastic. Acetal is often used for parts that require high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. Dimensional stability is the ability of a plastic part to retain its original dimensions when exposed to changes in temperature and humidity. Therefore,this polyacetal material is the ideal substitute for copper, coated zinc, steel and other metallic materials.
Standard stock for Acetal POM-C, good annealing material, porosity-free, good sheet flatness. Acetal copolymer cost is lower than Delrin® Homopolymer. Acetal copolymer is available in a wide variety of colors. Natural white, black, blue, and yellow colors do not require a minimum order quantity (MOQ), while other colors such as grey, green, and pink may have an MOQ.

● Physical and mechanical properties: POM-C has excellent impact strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It has high mechanical strength, high rigidity, high hardness, good elasticity, good creep resistance, and can maintain high impact strength even at low temperatures.
● Chemical corrosion resistance: POM-C can resist the erosion of a variety of acids, alkalis, salts and other chemical substances, and shows good chemical corrosion resistance.
● Electrical insulation performance: POM-C has low water absorption and good electrical insulation performance, which enables it to maintain good performance even in humid environments.
● Heat resistance: POM-C has good heat resistance and can be used for a long time in a temperature range of -40℃ to 120℃ (some say -60℃ to 100℃).
Due to its excellent performance, POM-C is widely used in automobiles, electronic appliances, machinery, medical equipment and other fields. Specific uses include but are not limited to:
● Automobile field: used to manufacture automobile parts such as bearings, gears, fasteners, etc.
● Electronic and electrical field: used to manufacture tooling, jigs, guide rails, trays and other parts of electronic equipment.
● Mechanical field: used to manufacture products that act as skeletons such as machine tools and instrument internals.
● Medical device field: due to its physiological inertness, it is suitable for contact with food and is also used to manufacture some medical device parts.
POM-C has excellent processing performance, but the following points should be noted during processing:
● POM-C does not need to be dried before processing, but it is best to preheat it during processing (about 80°C), which is good for the stability of product size.
● The processing temperature range of POM-C is relatively narrow (0~215°C). If it stays in the barrel for a long time or the temperature exceeds 220°C, it will decompose and produce irritating formaldehyde gas.
● The holding pressure during POM-C injection molding should be relatively large (similar to the injection pressure) to reduce the pressure drop. The screw speed should not be too high and the residual volume should be small.
● POM-C products have a large shrinkage rate and are prone to shrinkage or deformation. Therefore, during the molding process, the mold temperature needs to be controlled to prevent product deformation.
