PTFE Digestion Vessel
PTFE Digestion Vessel is a corrosion-resistant, high-temperature and high-pressure reaction vessel used for laboratory sample pretreatment, mainly used for acid digestion, microwave digestion, hydrothermal synthesis and other experiments. Its core material is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which has extremely strong chemical inertness, can withstand strong acids (such as hydrofluoric acid, aqua regia), strong bases and organic solvents, and can remain stable under high temperature and high pressure environments.
CYLEX Plastics supports small batch customization, large quantity discounts, fast delivery, and guaranteed after-sales service. Send us your drawings today!

Cylex Plastics is a professional PTFE Digestion Vessel Supplier. The following are our cases.

PTFE Digestion Vessel usually consists of the following parts:
(1) PTFE Liner
● Material: High-purity PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), temperature range -200°C ~ 260°C.
● Features:
Chemically inert, resistant to almost all acids (including HF), alkalis and organic solvents.
Low adsorption, avoid sample contamination.
Smooth surface, easy to clean, prevent cross contamination.
(2) Pressure Jacket
● Material:
Stainless steel (SS304/SS316): suitable for conventional digestion.
PEEK (polyetheretherketone): corrosion-resistant and lightweight, suitable for microwave digestion.
Composite materials (such as ceramic + PTFE): enhance pressure resistance.
Function: provide mechanical support to prevent the PTFE liner from deforming or rupturing under high pressure.
(3) Sealing Mechanism
● O-ring seal (fluororubber, PTFE coating)
● Screw compression structure (to ensure no leakage under high pressure)
● Pressure relief valve (optional): to prevent overpressure explosion.
Main types of PTFE Digestion Vessel
According to the application scenario, PTFE Digestion Vessel can be divided into:
(1) Microwave Digestion Vessel
Pressure range: usually 30~150 bar, temperature range 200~300°C.
(2) Hydrothermal/Solvothermal Autoclave
Used for hydrothermal synthesis of nanomaterials, crystal growth, etc.
Pressure resistance: 5~10 MPa, temperature resistance: 200~250°C.
(3) Acid Digestion Bomb
Used for closed acid digestion (such as HF digestion of silicate).
Main uses of PTFE Digestion Vessel
● Sample pretreatment
Used in food, biology, geology, metallurgy, environmental protection and other fields, to process soil, water, atmospheric particulate matter, food, sludge, rare earth and other samples.
Determination of trace elements and trace elements (such as heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd).
● Reaction vessel
As a high temperature, high pressure and corrosion resistant reaction vessel, it is suitable for organic synthesis, hydrothermal synthesis, crystal growth and other experiments.
● Special application
Can replace platinum crucible for trace element analysis in high purity alumina.
In CODcr determination, it has strong resistance to chloride ion interference and is suitable for high chloride water samples.
Significant advantages of PTFE Digestion Vessel
● Chemical inertness
Avoid reaction between the container and the sample to ensure the accuracy of the analysis results.
● Efficient digestion
High temperature and high pressure environment accelerates sample decomposition and shortens the experimental time.
● Safety and environmental protection
Good sealing, reducing acid mist leakage and environmental pollution.
Low blank value of metal elements (such as lead content <10⁻¹¹g/ml), improving analysis accuracy.
● Cost-effectiveness
High durability and long service life.
Easy to operate, no professional training required, low maintenance cost.
Typical application scenarios of PTFE Digestion Vessel
● Environmental science: detection of pollutants in soil and water.
● Food safety: analysis of heavy metals and pesticide residues in food.
● Geological exploration: processing rock and ore samples.
● Material research: exploration of new material composition and performance.
Compared with similar products
● PFA digestion tank: translucent, melting point of about 308℃, stronger resistance to solvent penetration, but higher cost.
● TFM digestion tank: modified PTFE, less deformation under high temperature and pressure, higher surface finish, but more expensive
Check the sealing regularly to prevent leakage.
