What is a Spring Energy Storage Seal
Spring energy storage seals have been widely used in places with extremely high requirements for durability, chemical resistance and working under extreme temperatures. Spring energy storage seals can choose conventional products according to user needs, and can also be customized and developed. They are widely recognized in various industries. Spring energy storage seals can reduce friction, work in harsh environments, reduce maintenance downtime and extend the working life of equipment.
Working Principle
The spring energy storage seal is a pressure-assisted sealing device composed of a polytetrafluoroethylene (or other polymer material) jacket and an energy storage spring. Both the jacket and the energy storage spring have excellent corrosion resistance. When the spring energy storage seal is installed in the sealing groove, the spring is compressed, causing the lip of the jacket to fit tightly against the sealing groove, thereby forming a seal. The spring provides permanent elastic force to the sealing jacket and compensates for material wear and offset or eccentricity of mating parts. The system pressure also assists the sealing jacket in storing energy. Through the spring elastic force and system pressure, effective sealing can be achieved regardless of high or low pressure. Spring energy storage seals are widely used in dynamic and static movements.
